How PaySubscriptions.com Can Help You Control Your Subscription Costs

Hi there! Once, while mowing the grass in my garden, I started thinking about the subscriptions I have to pay each month or year. How much am I currently spending? Do I have room for more? Of course, Excel or Numbers (or even plain text file) would be okay to get the answers, but for God’s sake — I’m a programmer, and programmers solve problems by writing apps — right?

So I did it — I wrote the app paysubscriptions.com, and here are a few words about it.

The app could be better (sure). Many things are still on my to-do list, but you know what they say: done is better than perfect! It is functional, and it can give you a glimpse of your spending. If you decide to give it a try, please let me know what you think!

The idea is simple: you provide the data, it does the maths and gives you some charts to visualise the subject — your spending. There are no integrations with third-party services or apps (for the time being) except for the email service (which, by the way, is not perfectly configured, and the emails might be treated as spam — so check your spam folder!).

I mentioned the to-do list, but of course, it all depends on the feedback. For my purpose, the app does what I wanted it to do (though there are a few things I still want to add). But if it could do more for you, I would be more than glad to consider your ideas! Here is the list I have already written down:

  1. UI — use popups!
  2. UI — improve the mobile version
  3. UI — subscriptions groups/categories
  4. import/export (CSV)
  5. REST API — for external integrations
  6. AI — as a chatbox (voice) interface to managing the subscription list (add/delete/edit)

Looks interesting? Let me know! ❤️
